MindMatters
MindMatters is a national mental health initiative for secondary schools. It is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing and implemented by the Principals Australia Institute(PAI).
MindMatters helps schools and their communities take action toward creating a climate of positive mental health. The initiative uses a whole school approach to embed mental health and wellbeing promotion and early intervention strategies in Australian secondary school communities.
MindMatters:
-
enhances the capacity of schools to ensure that young people feel safe,
valued, engaged, and purposeful -
actively develops the social and emotional skills that young people require
to meet life's challenges -
facilitates collaboration between families, school communities and the
health sector -
assists school communities to develop strategies that provide appropriate
support for students with additional mental health and wellbeing needs.
MindMatters includes authoritative information, practical planning strategies, curriculum materials, professional development resources and the MindMatters website. Principals Australia Institute commissioned Education Services Australia (ESA) to manage the website.
