My Skills connects students and employers with training organisations that best suit their needs. The Australian Government initiative provides a single access point for accurate and up-to-date information about Vocational Education and Training (VET).
The My Skills website was launched in 2012. It provides consolidated information about registered training providers, and qualifications in a consistent searchable format to assist students, job seekers and workers select appropriate training pathways and options. Users are able to:
Users can search and view 5,349 training locations for more information on localised training and the courses that are currently being offered. They can easily link to myfuture, the national careers and information service for information on over 18,000 courses offered by Australian universities and training providers.
Education Services Australia (ESA) was contracted by the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE) in 2012 to develop, maintain and host My Skills until 2014. This includes website and content development, data management and technical support. Data is sourced from training.gov.au, registered training providers and the National Centre for Vocational Education Research.
