palnet
The Leading ICT Learning project is funded by the Australian Government under the Digital Strategy for Teachers and School Leaders. It is a component of the Digital Education Revolution program. The project is led by the Principals Australia Institute.
The project has developed an online environment, palnet, to support current and aspiring principals to engage with information, expert advice, practical and strategic tools, mentoring, facilitated networking and collegial learning.
Forums, blogs, wikis and e‑collaborative spaces will enable principals and school leaders to connect and collaborate to:
- build collegiate networks
- plan and organise professional learning
- create a shared body of professional knowledge
- identify and build leadership capacity
- participate in mentoring activities
- engage in webinars
- develop ICT competencies
- access professional resources.
The resources and online support will be accessed through a portal built by Education Services Australia.
The project is governed by input from partners that include the Association of Heads of Independent Schools in Australia (AHISA), the Australian Primary Principals Association (APPA), the Australian Secondary Principals Association (ASPA), the Catholic Secondary Principals Australia (CaSPA), the Australian Special Education Principals Association (ASEPA) and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Principals Association (NATSIPA).
