ESA manages, supports and maintains registration and renewal services for edu.au website domains for the Australian education sector: currently, more than 16,500 domains across Australia. The domainname.edu.au website is the only place Australian education and training providers can register website domains specific to the education sector. ESA has delivered this service to users in Australia since 2002.
As part of this service, ESA manages and maintains a national online and telephone helpdesk, which operates Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. ESA also delivers regular reports summarising domain registrations, service performance and helpdesk activity to the edu.au Domain Administration Committee (eDAC).
edu.au domain licences are available to recognised Australian education and training providers, projects and programs, including childcare centres and preschools, government and non-government schools, universities and higher education providers, Registered Training Organisations, bodies serving overseas students, peak bodies and professional associations.
