One of the main roles of school resource centre and library staff is to support teaching and learning, and in recent years, this has expanded to include digital curation. Teacher librarians are well placed to work with classroom teachers to ensure that content relevant to their units of work and assessment tasks are made available to students, to help with learning and development, while building the students’ skills and knowledge.

Classroom teachers have a deep understanding of content and the curriculum, and by working together, teacher librarians can offer their extensive knowledge of resources and general capabilities to support educators in their role.
